Our history
With over a century legacy of service, relationships and innovation, we’ve built a reputation for clarity, quality and care that spans generations. Our story is one of steady progress, shaped by the people who’ve grown with us.
Laying the foundation
Fred Buzzacott, a munitions accountant from Devon established the practice on Fleet Street. In the same year, Watson O’Regan & Co buys Buzzacott Lillywhite, laying the foundations of what becomes Buzzacott.
Mergers and acquisitions
Partner Brian O’Regan drives growth with a merger with Down Kilner and Bobby Vincent (later Chairman). The acquisition of Lescher Stephens strengthens our position as charity specialists.
Growing the firm
A new generation of partners focuses on niche specialists, evolving from service-based departments to client-focused teams. We also acquire Fiscal Solutions, expanding our VAT expertise.
Buzzacott Stuart Defries Memorial Fund
The Buzzacott Stuart Defries Memorial Fund is established in memory of Partner Stuart Defries, supporting charitable causes close to our people’s hearts.
A new home
We move to 130 Wood Street, our current base, and achieve zero landfill. In 2014, we save 56 tonnes of CO₂ through our recycling initiatives.

In an era of consolidation, we remain one of the few independent firms, and the largest single-office accountancy practice in the UK.
