We are delighted to have advised Thatcham Research, motor insurers' automotive research centre, on its acquisition of Gamston Airport, located in Nottinghamshire.

Who are the firms involved?

Thatcham Research, established by the motor insurance industry in 1969, helps contain or reduce the cost of motor insurance claims while maintaining safety standards. It’s the UK’s only ‘not for profit’ insurer funded research centre, and is at the forefront of vehicle safety, security and repair.

The firm has acquired Gamston Airport, which is located in Nottinghamshire and is used mainly for small private aircraft.

What we liked about this deal

We thoroughly enjoyed working with the Thatcham team on this unusual transaction. A key aspect of our role was ensuring fluid communication between the many parties involved and organisation to ensure timelines were able to progress in tandem.
