Recruitment process
We don’t want you to feel like you’re jumping through endless hoops, so we’ve tried to make our early careers recruitment process as straightforward as possible.
It's been designed with you in mind - supporting you in telling us what we need to know to decide if you’re the right fit for Buzzacott, and to help you decide if we’re the right firm for you
Once you have selected the role that interests you most, please complete the application form in full and our Early Careers Recruitment team will review, and provide you with the outcome as soon as possible.
Within the application form, you will be asked to:
- Enter your name, phone number, and email address
- Submit your academic background information
- Confirm your Right to Work
- Identify any reasonable adjustments you require
- Upload your most up-to-date CV
If progressed after submitting your initial application, you will be asked to complete a set of role-specific questions. As part of your responses, you will have the opportunity to highlight the research you have done into your chosen service line, team, and qualification(s), and most importantly, explain why you are applying for the role and how your interests and career aspirations align to the proposed career pathway.
Your responses will be reviewed by team, who will then confirm whether you have been successful in moving to the next stage.
If moved onto the next stage, you will then be invited to complete a set of assessments, designed to evaluate your aptitude, behaviour and personality, against a model specifically set up for the role and team that you have applied for. Overall, the assessments should take you no more than 60-minutes, and you will receive a detailed report, offering you various insights regardless of your performance.
The aptitude assessment measures 5 areas that impact workplace performance - reasoning, perceptual speed, number speed and accuracy, word meaning and spatial visualisation. By measuring these 5 areas, we can assess a candidate's fluid intelligence. The behavioural assessment measures how someone communicates, leads and works - helping to better understand role fit and performance, whilst the personality assessment identifies the traits that drive how people think, work, interact and how these transfer to the workplace.
For further information on the Thomas assessments, please use the following link or contact the Early Careers Recruitment team (traineerecruitment@buzzacott.co.uk).
If you achieve the required score in the online assessments, you will then be asked to provide your availability to complete an online case study assessment. Each case study assessment has been developed by the Hiring Teams and can be directly linked to the tasks that you will complete in the role that you have applied for.
The Early Careers Recruitment team will schedule your case study to be sent to you via email at a pre-agreed time, and you will receive a text reminder on the day you are due to complete. Once completed, your response will be reviewed by the Hiring Team, and a decision made as to whether you should progress to interview stage.
If successful at case study assessment stage, you will be invited to our London office for an in-person interview with members of the team that you have applied for. Your interview is an opportunity to meet with actual members of the team, to discuss your interest in your chosen service line, team, and qualification(s) in more detail as well as the key responsibilities of the role and career pathway.
Interviews usually last for around 1.5 hours, but this may differ depending on the team that you have applied for. Please be assured, the Early Careers Recruitment team will confirm the expected duration of your interview upon requesting your availability to attend.
When attending your interview, please remember, it is also your opportunity to ask the team questions on all things Buzzacott, and trainee related. Our main aim is to ensure that you would feel ready to make a decision should you be offered a role after your interview.
We don't like to keep anyone hanging, so try to contact all those who have attended an interview as soon as possible. The Early Careers Recruitment team will request your availability for a call, discuss any feedback provided by the team and endeavour to confirm whether you are being extended an offer.
